Smarter together, further together in Hazerswoude

Earlier this year, the Hazerswoude-Rijndijk Oost Village Council, Actief Rijnwoude and Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn held four meetings for residents, businesses and associations/organisations on energy-saving measures at home and in the neighbourhood. Under the motto ’Smarter together, further together', the focus in the coming weeks will be on making our own homes more sustainable together. Work on the energy community will continue at the beginning of next year. The following meetings have been/will be held:

Thursday evening, 13 November 2025, the topic was:

  • Green roofs
  • Glass insulation and window frames with insulating glass
  • Floor, wall and roof insulation
  • Ventilate
  • Grants

You can here Download the flyers and brochures with information that were used this evening.

We discussed how you (together with others) can be well prepared for a quotation process and which companies you can engage for this. You decide for yourself which company you want to use, but you can also submit a quotation request via Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn. We bundle the requests and then submit a joint quotation request for several homes. A joint approach can result in a cost saving of up to ten per cent.

  • For insulating glass, we submit a request to Alphense Glas Centrale.
  • For windows/window frames, we submit a request to Palm Kozijnen.
  • For façade and floor insulation, we submit an application to Renovatie Totaal.

These providers can offer customised solutions for the most common types of homes in Rijndijk-Oost. Energiek Alphen will guide you through the quotation process. Would you like to take advantage of this service? Then fill in the quotation request form.

Sustainable heating

On Thursday, 27 November There will be a second follow-up evening for residents with a specific interest in sustainable heating for their own homes. Topics for this evening include heat pumps, heating systems and solar panels, energy storage and energy management. You can register for this meeting below.

Neighbourhood heating and energy community

On Thursday, 22 January 2026 We are holding an information evening for residents about the possibility of creating a neighbourhood heating network. In addition, the first steps will be taken towards establishing an energy community in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk. With the net metering scheme set to be abolished in 2027, an energy community is an attractive alternative. A number of participants in the Samen Slimmer Energie evenings have already indicated that they would like to contribute their ideas on this subject.

Can we share energy between residents, businesses and social housing? Within such a community, the first step is to map out how much electricity is generated sustainably and how high energy consumption is. The community must then be brought into balance: the more balance there is, the less the national grid needs to be reinforced! This can result in enormous savings; moreover, the energy network does not need to be reinforced to such an extreme degree. Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn is implementing the Glanskern Benthuizen pilot project. Here you can read how that works.
