Our Energy Coaches provide advice and help you move forward.
Our Energy Coaches provide residents of owner-occupied and rented properties with independent and non-binding advice on appropriate sustainability measures for their homes. The Energy Advice is free of charge and can be easily requested.
Energiek Alphen is keen to get in touch with people who want to become Energy Coaches. Below you will find information about the work of an Energy Coach and how to apply.
What does an Energy Coach do?
As an Energy Coach, you provide residents with independent and non-binding advice on the most appropriate sustainability measures for their situation. During a home visit, you walk through the residents' home with them. You advise them on energy-saving measures, such as insulation, or on the possibility of installing solar panels. The conversation is summarised in a digital file. This often contains enough information for residents to get started on their own. Sometimes residents also want a little more support with their sustainability activities. On average, you will spend about 3 hours per week. Residents are very grateful for our independent advice and guidance on what to do and what not to do. Read here more about the work of the Energy Coaches, what we ask and what we have to offer.
What do we offer you as an Energy Coach?
- An enthusiastic team of twenty volunteers who want to help fellow residents in their neighbourhood make their homes more sustainable;
- A training course to become an Energy Coach to further deepen your knowledge of sustainability, including measures, financing and subsidy options. The basic training course takes a few half-days and can also be taken online.;
- Guidance (after your training) to enable you to give advice independently;
- Opportunities to exchange knowledge and thereby become smarter together;
- A volunteer allowance per energy advice provided.
What do we ask of our Energy Coaches?
- You are interested in sustainability, energy saving and the energy transition;
- You enjoy helping your neighbours and residents, are not afraid to ask questions and advise them;
- You can set aside 3-4 hours per week (as advised). You are free to organise this time as you see fit. You will make around 20-30 visits to residents per year. More is always welcome, of course!
- Knowledge of energy-saving measures is beneficial, but not essential. During the training, you will learn the tricks of this wonderful trade.;
- You are computer literate (Word, Outlook) and can draft reports and files.
