More Energy Coaches for home consultations

The number of energy recommendations issued by Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn since 2020 is now approaching 1,750. In 2024, around 125 were added. This is a lower score than in previous years, although the number of requests has shot up again in recent months. This is evident from the half-yearly report of the Energy Coach Coordination Team (ECT) on the second half of last year.

The ECT of Energiek Alphen suspects that the stagnation in the number of requests for energy advice consultations is related to the falling energy prices over the past year, even though rates are still high compared to a few years ago. But consumers seem to have become accustomed to this. Energy prices are expected to rise again. This is due to geopolitical circumstances around the world (Ukraine/Russia/United States, Middle East) and the necessary investments in the Dutch electricity network. These were recently announced by the government and network operators estimated at nearly 200 billion euros.

Residents of the municipality can request an energy consultation from Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn. An Energy Coach will then visit your home to take a look around. Together, you will examine which energy-saving measures are possible. The advice is free and there is no obligation. Simple measures, such as draught strips and radiator foil, can already yield significant savings. The Energy Coaches can also provide good advice and support to both homeowners and tenants on insulation measures, heat pumps and solar panels.

Energiek Alphen is anticipating an increasing number of energy consultation appointments. At the beginning of this year, a recruitment campaign for new Energy Coaches was conducted, which resulted in eight applications. These candidates are now undergoing basic training and will be able to start work in the summer. The Energy Coach team will then comprise a total of around 25 advisors.
