We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

- Energy saving support officer ECT
- Communications & Marketing Officer
- Project Assistant, Smarter Sustainability Together
- Energy handyman
- Helpdesk officer for funding and grants
- Energy contracts helpdesk employee
- Supervisor for collective procurement of energy measures
Energy coach
As an energy coach, you provide residents with independent and non-binding advice on the most suitable sustainability measures for their situation. During a home visit, you walk through the residents' home with them. You advise them on energy-saving measures, such as insulation, or on the possibility of installing solar panels. The conversation is summarised in a digital file. This often contains enough information for residents to get started on their own. Sometimes residents also want to be supported for a longer period of time in their sustainability activities.
Read here more about the work of the Energy Coaches, what we ask and what we have to offer. On average, you spend about 3 hours per week. Residents are very grateful for our independent advice and guidance on what to do and what not to do.
Energy saving support officer ECT
The Energy Saving Coordinator supports the Energy Coordination Team (ECT) in its contacts with volunteers and relations, particularly residents of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn who have received energy advice. The coordinator knows how to convince them of the value of energy-saving measures. He/she helps residents make choices without taking over their role. It is a position that requires an average of one day a week (0.2 FTE) and is remunerated accordingly. Read here more about the position.
Communications & Marketing Officer
As a communications and/or marketing officer, you will assist in the development, coordination and implementation of various activities, such as writing news items and articles for a range of publications, managing and maintaining our website and social media channels, and organising (informational) meetings. You will carry out campaigns to recruit new members and volunteers and maintain contacts with the media.
You enjoy writing and are curious about all developments in the energy transition. You are not afraid to ask questions and have fresh ideas about how we can make Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn ‘top of mind’ among residents, administrators and partners.
Project Assistant, Smarter Sustainability Together
We carry out various projects in neighbourhoods and communities within the municipality to help residents – individually or together with other residents and organisations – make their homes or neighbourhoods more sustainable. As a project assistant, you will provide practical support to other volunteers at Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn, such as energy coaches and board members. The tasks can be very different; the work varies from administrative support, planning and coordination to budget management and reporting. You have a hands-on mentality and quickly feel at home, whether in a working group, organising an information meeting or as an EA host/hostess at the Care & Welfare Information Point. There is always a position that suits you.
Energy handyman
All kinds of small energy-saving measures are relatively easy to implement. But not everyone is equally handy, or may be limited in their abilities due to physical circumstances. For these people, you as an Energy Handyman are their saviour. You help them install draught strips or radiator foil, for example. Window foil can also reduce heat loss and keep the cold out, but how do you apply it neatly? You can do these kinds of jobs with ease. Would you like to do this rewarding work for a few hours a week? Then sign up now as an Energy Handyman.
Helpdesk officer for funding and grants
The Energy Coaches at Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn provide residents of the municipality with free, no-obligation advice on energy-saving measures in their homes. This may include costly measures such as insulation or the purchase of solar panels or a heat pump, for example. The government and other agencies offer various types of financial support to encourage energy saving and sustainability. This can include subsidies, loans or tax benefits.
Many people find it difficult to figure out which scheme they are eligible for. As a finance and subsidies officer, you help them identify and apply for the right scheme(s). In doing so, you remove an important barrier for residents to convert the EA advice into concrete sustainability actions.
Energy contracts helpdesk employee
Choosing the right energy contract can be an important decision, as it affects your energy costs and the degree of flexibility you have with your energy supplier. There are different types of energy contracts, and it is important to compare them carefully based on your own situation (e.g. your energy consumption, your preferences for green energy or your preference for a fixed price). As an energy contract advisor, you help residents make the right choice.
Fixed or variable, green energy or not, the duration and notice period of your contract: in this role, you will examine all aspects of a new energy contract. You will help residents weigh up the pros and cons so that they can make an informed choice about a new supplier. Or whether it is better to renew the contract with their current supplier.
Supervisor for collective procurement of energy measures
Collective purchasing of energy measures is a smart way to save costs and makes sustainability more accessible to more people. This includes, for example, solar panels, insulation, energy-efficient equipment or green energy contracts. By purchasing together, you are in a stronger position and can benefit from favourable rates. It is important to carefully review the terms and conditions and compare them with other options to ensure you are getting the best deal.
As a collective energy purchasing advisor, you help residents, businesses and organisations to go through this process: what options are available, which suppliers can you turn to for the installation and execution of the work, and what are the pros and cons? The EA advisor is responsible for management and coordination; ultimately, the participants make the decisions.
