From ‘yes, but’ to ‘just do it’
On 8 October, the energetic town of Alphen marked the presence at the ‘Doe maar Duurzaam’ event organised by the VOA, the Alphen business association. We had a stand on the Impactplein and spoke to various business owners about sharing energy within a local energy community and the possibilities offered by Zelflevering+.
The guest speaker was former politician and entrepreneur Klaas Dijkhoff, who is also known as a bridge-builder between the worlds of politics and business. Before taking to the stage, he took a moment to visit the EA stand and have a brief chat with our chairman, Erik de Ruijter (see photo).
‘Impact begins with action’ was the central theme of the well-attended VOA meeting. Klaas Dijkhoff captivated a packed audience of around 170 people with his talk, in which he explored the event’s title with humour and his characteristic directness. The focus was mainly on that one little word in the middle: ‘but’. Or rather: ‘yes, but’. And he concluded with the word that really matters: ‘do’. In a series of breakout sessions, various speakers then explained how to move from ‘yes, but’ to ‘do’.
