So-called frontline professionals (such as GPs) and organisations such as the Food Bank, Participe, Tom in de buurt, the Kringloopwinkels and the Kledingbank are also involved in this project. These are all organisations that have frequent contact with residents for whom the energy assistance is primarily intended. These include people on a tight budget, those with a smaller social network, and people who find it difficult to find the right support services on their own.<\/p>\n
There are two pilot projects on the programme:<\/p>\n
A campaign to recruit twenty residents through Actief Rijnwoude and the Alphen aan den Rijn & Surrounding Areas Food Bank, with whom a home visit will be arranged. The possibilities for energy-saving measures will be discussed with these residents, along with how they can be helped to actually implement those measures.<\/p>\n
The second (similar) pilot project is being carried out in collaboration with other partners; as part of this, home visits will be made to a further forty residents in 2027.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Will you become an Energy Handyman?<\/strong><\/h3>\nActief Rijnwoude already has an Energy Team made up of volunteers who carry out odd jobs in people\u2019s homes. Energiek Alphen aan den Rijn has a team of Energy Coaches and is now also recruiting Energy Handypersons.<\/p>\n
As an \u2018Energieklusser\u2019, you feel a sense of connection to your neighbourhood and its residents. You\u2019re a volunteer who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and making a difference to others\u2019 lives. You help neighbours with \u2018small\u2019 energy-saving measures in their homes. Examples include fitting draught strips, applying radiator foil, replacing incandescent bulbs with LED lighting, or fitting a water-saving shower head. For residents, your efforts make all the difference: lower energy consumption and a more comfortable home to live in.<\/p>\n
These measures are relatively easy to carry out. However, not everyone is equally adept at this, or may be limited in what they can do due to physical circumstances. For these people, you, as an Energy Handyman, are a lifesaver.<\/p>\n
